Rally Against Islamo-Fascism at Ground Zero *Updates cont'd!

Here is my photo slide show.
Links to video coming up shortly from Paul Revere Brigade..

So please stay tuned!

I had the honor of shaking the hand of each of these
fine US Navy Sailors! Made my day.

It was a nice show of patriotism in New York City from a diverse and dedicated group of people, some who even came in from other states. We got the interest of many tourists and passersby as well.

I met an English family from Manchester visiting Ground Zero who said they can't even fly the Union Jack in their yards, lawns or in front of businesses because it offends members of the Religion of Peace and that you can even get arrested for flying it. Can you believe that? Well, I can tell you with a fair amount of certainty that will never happen here in America. *Update: It was brought forward that this is an 'urban myth' in the UK. See comments section for info. *Update: 4/2/07 Apparently it is NOT a myth. A commenter from London has weighed in!

Some tourists were even picking up American flags and getting into the spirit of things!

Okay, I caught a shot of this guy, but I'm not sure he was there for the rally.

Updates coming in moment-by-moment: Sunday, April 1, 2007

Here is the list of speakers who all did a wonderful job getting the message out.
- Joan / CSDL (Coalition for a Secure Driver's License)
- Gayle / NJCIC (New Jersey Citizens for Immigration Control)
- Joanna / NYICE (New York Immigration Control & Enforcement /
progressrose@yahoo.com)
- Desiree / Surviving family member of the 9/11 attacks on the World Trade Center
- Miguel / You Don't Speak For Me (American Hispanic Voices Against Illegal Immigration)
- Mallory / The David Horowitz Freedom Foundation
- Hope / Get Out The Facts - Which had success recently picketing and challenging the lies and distortions in the off-Broadway play, "My Name is Rachel Corrie"
- Dan / Gathering of Eagles New York Chapter
- Marty / Paul Revere Brigade
- Richard / Hip Hop Republican
- Ibrahim Abdul Mu-min / President of the New York Chapter of the Free Muslims Coalition Against Terrorism

- Christine / Vigilant Freedom The 910 Group

Here is great photo from this slide show taken by another person who was there.

I would also like to thank the German website, Politically Incorrect for linking this story!

*UPDATES: Photos from the other rallies across the country are starting to come in and can be seen here. They really did hang an effigy of bin Laden in Anaheim, CA. Oh my!

And big giant thanks to Charles at LittleGreenFootballs for posting this!

The story of the English not being able to fly "their own" flag for fear of being arrested is an urban Myth.

It's a popular urban myth amongst racists in England but has no basis in reality.

Many English people cry "We are not allowed to fly our flag in our own country" and they are either mistaken, ill educated on the law or liars.

I'm English, btw, and there are 3 houses in my street that fly the Union Jack 365 days a year.

Anonymous,
Is it a 'myth' in Manchester? Because that is where the people who told me this were from. Maybe Manchester has a worse problem that you realize.

April 01, 2007 1:09 PM
Anonymous Anonymous said...

Trust me, it's a Myth.

Feel free to visit Manchester any time and see English people, (of all colours and religions) displaying the Union Jack (or any other flag) whenever they wish.

Contact Manchester Council for confirmation that you wont get arrested for either wearing or dislaying the flag.
http://www.manchester.gov.uk/

There's nothing new about this urban myth. It goes back many, many years. No doubt some English people genuinely believe they'll be in troule if they wave their flag (and others just pretend to believe for their own agenda) although I can only presume they've never watched or attended any English sporting or Royal events.

We (The English) don't display the flag as much as Americans display the Stars and Stripes. There are no deep or meaningful reasons for this. It's just how it is.

The Flatlanders ruined that great state.

The same way they destroyed Massachusetts, Maine, and the rest of New England.

It's still a beautiful region, but the people who inhabit it have become progressively stupider with each passing generation due to inward migration from places like Brooklyn, Massachusetts, etc...

ACtually that "Union Jack" story while a "Myth" also has a kernel of truth to it. Like How all myths get started. But it didnt have to do with the "union jack" but rather the flag of St' george or the flag of England but NOT the UK. During events that have to do with "england" but NOT Scotland or Ireland or Wales they fly that flag. Usually at sporting events.
LAst time England did quite well in the world cup those flags stated going up all over England.
Then Quite a few "threats" started happening from ROP'ers saying that the flag was offensive because of the cross in it. Stores out of fear of Bombings and "cultural sensitivity" basically took down all their English flags.

Schools drop Holocaust teaching for fear of offending Muslims

Schools are dropping controversial subjects from history lessons - such as the Holocaust and the Crusades - because teachers do not want to cause offence, Government research has found.

http://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/news/s/1002/1002122_fans_happy_as_flag_ban_lifted.html

It was not so much a ban, as flags are flown from many nationalities in Manchester, the problem was that whenever the george cross was flown then the council members started to quote regulations, from the angle of flag poles/lack of flag poles, to health and safety regulations. This was never mentioned when other flags were flown. I live inside the centre of manchester and know of no muslim spokesperson or community group who has a problem with the flag being flown, though obviously there are the firebrand muslims who scream about anything unislamic. The problem comes from the unelected white council members who pre empt and remove things they fear MAY offend any minority. They truly do feel they are doing good work.
I could supply several links to councils the length and breadth of the UK who believe their job is to shield minorities from the evil of the george cross, but it is late, and I don't think you would be that interested, tata

I am interested in the George Cross and any links you want to share. I photographed a statue of St. George slaying the Dragon at a previous anti-war rally at the end of Dag Hammerskjold Plaza at the UN.
Here is the url:

Its not the best picture but you can see the Dragon's mouth and tail in it's death throes.

It is very beautiful and I hope to go back and take better pictures of it soon.

From Pamela our wonderful event organizer from the United American Action Committee comes this report:

"Our Rally at Ground Zero was only our Second Annual Rally Against Islamic-Terrororism, but it went very well. Much better this year!

Preceding this year's rally, we spent a very busy year meeting fellow Patriots from other groups, networking and rallying. Those of us involved on that level felt very good. We had a great turn-out of fellow patriots.

Many knew friends joined us from Pennsylvania and Virginia (which was an added bonus) I think the Gathering Of Eagles on March 17th has been really good for us all; awakening our fellow Americans to the power of the masses.

We CAN speak the truth about Terrorism. We must NOT be silent.

That’s the good (getting more people up and out to these rallies) and the only negative is that some want our numbers to be up there with the paid crowds that the Leftists pull. We’re newer to this ‘game’, but we’re learning.

Our crowd was probably about 50 patriots who were solid and attentive; respectful. They rallied to hear the messages from our speakers and our speakers were mostly on message. We had a great platform that was decorated with flags, flags, and more flags!!( all thanks to our flag-man, Tom).

Desiree and StandWithUs.org (Michelle) had great posters and some of our new patriots (who came from Jersey…young TEACHERS!) had some really great posters that cut right to the message (urbaninfidel.blogspot.org) caught great shots of just about all of the posters.

We started with the singing of the Star Spangled Banner. Just Great!
Then our our speakers.

Chaplin Desiree opened with a prayer and a brief speech.

We had Miguel Cruz of the NJ chapter of “You Don’t Speak For Me” (dontspeakforme.org); just fabulous. He spoke about our growing crime levels from illegal immigration and,of course, he and Joanna of NYICE and Dr. Kessleman (co-Chair ) of NJCIC, (NJ Citizens for Immigration Control) (njcitizensforimmigrationcontrol.com/index.htm) all spoke of the terrorist connections to our open borders where they are entering our country illegally.

We were thrilled that Mary from The David Horowitz Freedom Foundation
was able to join us. Her first time out in 9 weeks after breaking her pelvis (not good).
She was dynamite; so on-message. And her main point: STOP SAYING THIS IS A CLASH OF CIVILIZATIONS! (No how; no way!)

Our Muslim speaker, Ibrahim Abdul Mu’min (President of the NY chapter of Free Muslim Coalition Against Terrorism) www.freemuslims.org )

He is a pleasant and agreeable person (fyi-many feel he’s probably a convert to Islam) but his
WAY too long speech did eventually become more of a pro-Koran, pro- Mohammed speech and was NOT what this crowd wanted to hear. Consequently we had a young
man who was bursting with rebuttal to Ibrahim's apologetics

(as was Chaplain Desiree…she was ready to ‘pull the- plug on his never e-nding speech)

But, later she was able to rebutt with a fire-in-her-belly. Desiree is one mighty speaker.

Now, should that be called “hate-speech”? Ibrahim felt it was.

Back to the young Loyalist” from the crowd (Vito?).

He said he is a member of the Loyalist Party (www.loyalistparty.com )

He also, was seemingly, a pleasant and soft-spoken individual with a fount of FACTS.

Once he made his first rebuttal he should have stopped (he said it would be brief) and we were at the end of our two hours, but …he went on full attack against any defence
of Islam; against Ibrahim’s claim of the “Good Islam” in the Koran...(Allah be praised!).

I feel strongly that Ibrahim caused this by over-reaching in his own speech.

Was it inappropriate for Vito to counter with facts about Islam's historical terror?

Shall we NOT criticize Islam? The Koran? Mohammed?

I would say most of us felt that’s what we were there to defend: the IMPORTANCE of speaking out with out apprehension. Ibrahim (respectfully) felt it was” hate speech”.

On the good side we had Dan of the NY Gathering Of Eagles!
They’re a new chapter , but we were so glad to have them join us.

What a treat! Marty Mawyer of the Paul Revere Brigade (www.ChristianAction.org)

They filmed the WHOLE rally! Great guys who passed out really powerful brochures.

We saw The Reverand S. Stinson and her fabulous daughter Minister Bea in the crowd but too late to have them speak. They have been out there, on the streets, in Jersey speaking about and warning of the dangers of Islam in front of a mosque…

So brave. Too bad we weren’t able to have them speak. Good news, though, they have a radio program “Think About It” on 570AM.(on the net www.wmca.com/click on PODPLUS)

ALSO,
Richard Ivory, (our HipHopRepublican.com) What a great speaker. Not just a blogger, he!
I can’t wait for the video. Some of these speeches I’m looking forward to hearing again.

Hope of GET OUT THE FACTS (the activist group that had success recently picketing and challenging the lies and distortions in the Off-Broadway play "My Name Is Rachel Corrie"),

Also, a great tight speech. She reminded us all this rally is NOT about one political party. This is about the War against Islamic Terrorism.

It is NOT (or SHOULD not ) be about a party position.

( I hope someone can get that message to San Fran Pelosi…)
And lastly, Christine Brim from a new organization (vigilantfreedom.com )

I think she said it was started by the blogger “Gates of Vienna’.

It’s growing fast and already an international organization.

She came from Virginia to join us at the rally and meet us all.

We were so glad to meet her! What a great speaker.

In particular she made us aware that her organization is working with ‘moderate’muslims…if there really can be such…who are going to help defend us from the malicious law-suits that organizations like CAIR has planned for ANYONE who
challenges Islam. (in the words of the GREAT Michelle Malkin: WE ARE ALL JOHN DOE)

Well…We did it. It was a really good rally. And we were VERY , VERY COLD!

We proudly said our Pledge of Allegiance and left knowing we can meet this challenge of fighting CAIR and the Islamic Terrorist hoard. And we must continue to draw strength from each other. The network is growing!!

UNITED WE STAND!!

(And then….) Because we were so-o-o cold...

About 14 or 15 of us hit a GREAT Irish bar (O’Hara’s)

We had some great chat, great food and some great brew (for those who wanted it)

for a couple of fabulous hours!!"

Back again, I have a couple of links this time, first being about Blackpool council and their ban specifically on the england shirt and flag during the last world cup
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/pages/live/articles/news/news.html?in_article_id=387034&in_page_id=1770&in_page_id=1770&ct=5&expand=true
It was during the last world cup that this story featured on the front of most papers, that was when the medias attention turned onto the local bureaucrats and all the stories came out of the woodwork, the salford incident was mentioned as were others. The government seeing a crisis promptly took up the flag and shook it for all they were worth, they failed to fool anyone. A good opinion piece in the next link from Boris Johnson, He is becoming a British institution though no-one would trust the country to him.
http://www.boris-johnson.com/archives/2006/06/the_england_flag.php
There are more stories, but they all pale in comparison with blackpool councils brainwave.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hBxkrBaK8vk Boris at his usual best, fyi he is a conservative party member, and is shadow minister for higher education, and was born in new york!

I just wanted to comment on the "flag myth". The muslims are not upset about the union jack flag, but rather it is the St. George flag that causes another cartoon jihad for them.
I know this as I have a friend there that cannot fly his flag as the muslims in his particular area would trash his office, car, and physically assault him for it.
I fly the American flag here with the St. George flag next to it for him and in support for all those that can't, and I dare any ROP'er to give me fits about it, muhahahahaha.

Hi, I got your link from LGF, and have to tell you that flying our Union Jack flat does come with penalties, especially if you were to fly it at any pro-terror counter demo... you'd be arrested.

Yes, you can fly your flag outside the window of your house, but on the whole, it's scorned on. The BBC and other left wing media have labelled anyone who flies our lovely flag as "fascists and racists".

I live in London, and this is one city where you'll never see an anti-terror demo, because with our Mayor, Red Ken Livingstone in charge of handing out the licences to demonstrate and hold rallies, we'd have to wait until Hell freezes over. He prefers to give the licences to anti-war demos and pro-Islam demos.

Thanks so much! Yes, that is a photograph of Ground Zero. My new camera takes amazing photos. There's something about the light in that photo that is surreal. We are rebuilding, but it is so political with what happens at that site, it would require a whole book to explain it all. That is why it is taking so long.

Rally Against Islamofascism:
Remembering Bloody Tuesday

Six years have passed since the worst terrorist attack on America. It seems that most Americans do not remember what happened on September 11, 2001. We are back to business as usual. While our military is fighting the War on Terror, American consumers are financing terrorism by buying Middle Eastern oil. While a Crucifix submerged in urine is considered to be a free artistic expression and received a government grant, flushing a Koran down the toilet is prosecuted as a hate crime. While moderate Muslim groups like American Islamic Forum for Democracy and Muslims Against Sharia are virtually unheard of, terrorist fronts like CAIR and MPAC receive multi-million dollar payments from Saudi Arabia and enjoy full recognition by our government officials.

When: September 11, 2007, 4pm-6pm
Where: 12901 Q Street, Omaha, NE 68137
Inquires: Omaha @ TerrorFreeOil.org
